Energy
Assistance - Fuel Funds
Fuel funds are funds donated by customers of local utilities to help people
in need pay their utility bill and avoid disconnection. To qualify for
assistance, your household must be in the service area of the
specific utility, your income must be under 150% of the poverty guidelines
and you must have a disconnect notice. Other factors may apply to
determine eligibility. Funds are limited to availability and
individual utility restrictions. Refer to the table below for fuel
funds administered by the Community Action Council.
In Thurston County, an energy relief fund targeted for
households that have income levels between 126% to 150% is available.

residents who are customers of Puget Sound Energy should contact the
Olympia Salvation Army, the administrators of a
fuel fund for that utility. |

Affordable Housing
Programs include the Section 8 housing assistance
for Lewis County, operation of the Morton Senior Citizen Center senior
housing complex and other affordable housing development services.

Information and Referral
The Council
coordinates with other local agencies and service providers to provide
information and referral activities linking people with needed services.

Rental
and Mortgage Assistance
Limited
rental and mortgage assistance is available to eligible households in select
locations. Funds are limited and restricted to help households
avoid homelessness.

Utility Discount Assistance
Disabled adults under age 62 that have a City of Shelton utility bill
in their name may be eligible for a discount on their bill if other income
qualifications are met. Disabled adults, who meet the same qualifications
and are customers of Mason County PUD #3 may qualify for a discount
on their utility bill.

City of Shelton - Support Our
Sheltonians (SOS) Utility Bill Assistance
Households with a gross income level less than $30,000 per
year may qualify for assistance in paying their City of Shelton utility bill.
Qualifying families may receive assistance up to $75 as often as twice a
year, if funds are available.
