Limited rental assistance is sometimes available to eligible households in select locations. Funds are limited and restricted to help households avoid homelessness. In 2009, the Council received grant funding from the City of Lacey for 1-2 additional foreclosed upon properties to add to the affordable rental housing available. We were able to purchase and rehab one single family home in 2011 for a senior/disabled household. Efforts are underway to purchase a second home in the same Lacey Community. In fiscal 2009, Federal Tax Credits and Tax Bonds were far less available compared to prior years, and Department of Commerce announced that there would be no funding rounds in 2010 and possibly 2011 for the Housing Trust fund.
